Read-a-thon
If you are busy with after school activities and are unable to read with your children, we are also offering a recorded video for each night's reading! Please see the links below, which cover chapters 2 & 3 for Tuesday, October 2.
Students will take individual pictures on 10/4. Look for more information to come from your child's teacher.
Safety Drill
In keeping with our most critical responsibility (the safety of your children), our students and staff conducted a Safety Drill this afternoon, specifically to practice everyone’s role in the event of a suspicious or unsafe person or incident on our campus or in the surrounding community. Much like we practice fire drills on a regular basis, it is important that we train, prepare, and practice for various types of situations and emergencies that could occur. District safety guidelines were carefully followed, and our teachers certainly called upon the training we have received from the TCPD.
I introduced and explained the drill on my principal's message video to students using kid friendly language, and our teachers did a masterful job with preparation and implementation. I am so proud of the careful and strategic efficiency our students and staff demonstrated this afternoon. In less than two minutes, all students were safe, secure, silent, and out-of-sight in locked classrooms.
