Season of Service
2014
Check out our Season of Service photo gallery!
As individuals and churches serve our community, we at Serve Sacramento are working to make sure these stories are captured and shared! One great way to see the work that is being done is to check out our ever-expanding Season of Service photo gallery on our website! If you have been serving and have some pictures that you would like to share with the Season of Service community, you can share them on our website by uploading them here. Finally, make sure to like us on Facebook, as we are posting pictures regularly. THANK YOU for serving and for sharing your stories!
Stories of Service: iCare Davis
Last weekend, about 500 volunteers from eight Davis area churches joined forces to serve the Yolo County area in the third annual iCare service event. Teams spread out over the Davis, Dixon and Woodland area to clean and renovate schools, homeless shelters, libraries, parks, migrant camps and other community organizations. Over 20 projects were completed, each project sending a message to the community of the love and care of Jesus. One iCare participant, Jann Murray-Garcia, could not have said it better: "We just want to 'show up' in the community we are part of, as Jesus Christ did, in practical, tangible ways." Thank you Davis area churches for all you are doing in the name of Christ!
April 11th-16th: Serve Arden/Arcade Week
Serve Partnerships Unlimited and several area churches will be joining with the Spanish speaking Iglesia Cristiana Emmanuela for a five day local missions trip! The mission trip will include a Family Fun Day Carnival and BBQ, a Barnabas Team, a Gospel presentation and many community projects throughout the week. There are still openings to serve for the entire week, or you can choose to serve in specific projects. If you are interested in being a part of this incredible local service week, please contact Rob Dirkse at spu1@ymail.com or sign up to serve here.
April 14th-19th: Love INC's Church of the Week
Individuals, families or even small groups can partner with Love INC during the week of April 14-19 to meet the needs of families who have contacted their help line for assistance. Morning (10-2), afternoon (2-6) and evening (6-9) shifts are available. These requests vary from providing and delivering groceries, clothes and furniture, to helping someone move or possibly even making a home visit. A pick up truck or a vehicle that can tow a Love INC trailer is helpful but not mandatory. Visit the Love INC website here for more info and to sign up!
