Welcome to Bradley Gardens
It seems like yesterday that we sent the children home to you for a summer’s reprieve. And yet, here we are, surrounded by Back to School sales and noticing September on the next page of the calendar. At Bradley Gardens, we have spent the summer getting ready for this day. From the day school let out, our goal has been the new opening day. Our talented and dedicated teaching staff have been planning and preparing for your child(ren). In the main office, the fabulous A team (Ms. Amy and Ms. Andrea) have been registering new families, ordering needed materials and updating student files. Mr. Derek and our hard working custodians have spent the entire summer thoroughly cleaning the facility. And of course, the PTO has been gearing up to welcome families, provide volunteer opportunities, and offer other exciting events and programs. The custodians have been working diligently to give everything that shiny September look.
We welcome Mrs. Yaitza Cintron to our first grade team. She will be co-teaching with Mrs. Fornaro. Mrs. Urbanowicz moved up to second grade and will be co-teaching with Mrs. Winters. Mrs. Dombrowski is joining us from Eisenhower and supporting our B.E.S.T. classrooms. Mrs. D'Elia is joining us from Milltown. She will begin her new role as an LDTC in the district. Our fourth grade A math will be taught by Ms. Samuels who will be a part time intervention specialist.
I have scheduled an Open House for September 6th from 2-3:00 PM. It is the perfect time for you to see our building and help your child learn how to get to their room and ease any of their jitters. Practice it a few times with them. Your child can also see other students meet their teacher. Please save all of your wonderful questions on curriculum and classroom procedures for Back to School Night, on September 29th.
On the first day of school, we will have many teachers and PTO volunteers outside to help your child again, so no need to worry. You are welcome to walk your children to the main door on the first day to take pictures by the school bus sign and kiss goodbye. However, we ask that this is the only day for this. We will continue helping the children to their rooms this first week.
Please take the time to read about the arrival and dismissal plans. If your child is a walker and you want them to sign themselves out (grade 3/4), you will need to complete the forms for dismissal. Contact the Main Office for this. We will continue the QR code for sign in and out. Thank you for your continued cooperation in keeping the children safe. Please continue to check the website for updates and information. The updated Family Handbook is online for you to read as well.
The Parent Portal (Powerschool) will go live on Friday afternoon (8/26). There you will find your child's teacher for the school year. A great deal of time, effort and thought has gone into the process of student placement for the school year. Careful consideration was given to the input from staff and families as well as student learning styles. Classrooms have been balanced academically and socially. Our class lists are structured to provide equitable class sizes at each grade level. Moving students is difficult without causing imbalances and inequities. Thank you so much for being positive with your child and helping him or her understand that it is impossible to place all students with a preferred best friend or teacher. ALL of our staff works hard to make school a positive experience for ALL students. Please remember that at this time we will not accommodate any requests for changes. Once you have the name of your child's teacher, you can navigate to their website for a welcome letter. The suggested supply list for students per grade level is available on the website and below. If you are not able to obtain the additional materials suggested, be assured that each child will be provided with any supplies needed for his or her instruction.
Please know that we remain dedicated to providing your child(ren) an interactive, engaging, and safe learning experience. Your commitment to keep Bradley Gardens a celebrated and successful school is appreciated. It remains a privilege to serve as your principal for the 15th year and I am thankful to know and get to know your children. Together, I know we will make this school year one of growth and achievement for all.
School officially begins on September 7th at 8:45 am!

IMPORTANT: ARRIVAL PROCEDURES VIDEO
Parents park by the tennis courts. Proceed to the middle doors of the school, where the wooden bus sits by the tree. Line up outside and we will have your child come to meet you, once they are signed out. Once you have your child, please be sure to supervise your child or hold their hand, as the buses are parked along the curb.
If your child can sign themselves out, be sure to alert the Main Office. Children that can sign themselves out will exit out the 4th grade hallway.

Welcome back to school! I hope you had a wonderful summer. We certainly missed seeing your children and are ready for an AWEsome school year. There are few things that can help your child be ready for school. About two weeks out from the start of school, it’s a good idea to start slowly re-adjusting the family schedule so it matches up with how the school day will be. Usually this means getting to bed earlier, waking up earlier, and getting dinner and bedtime routines back in place after the freedom of summer time. Try to cut back that screen time, even if it’s difficult. This will give your child imaginative time to think. If your child feels bored without their device, guess what? A little boredom is not a bad thing. Boredom often leads to ideas and thoughts! Problem solving! Creativity! Finally, remind your child that they will have a great school year while discussing reasonable goals for them. I look forward to seeing you and your child at our Open House, scheduled for September 6th at 2:00-3:00.
