Wow, just wow! We had another great week! So much fun together making memories! We have a new kindergartner join our school community this week. We also had unified night lights and Fun Friday. The kids have had a wonderful week of learning and having fun together. Our assemblies this week focused on goal setting- you may view the presentation by clicking here. Our students will all have a reading goal that they are working for this first semester. This goal and progress will be communicated with you at Parent-Teacher Conferences in October. This Friday you should receive your child's mid-quarter progress report from your teacher.
Thank you to everyone who came in to help pop the popcorn. I learned a few lessons this week- my husband is getting us an additional popcorn machine, one just can't keep up- we need more parent volunteers, thank you to those who volunteered to help pop and thank you to those who just jumped in and started helping and stayed after your child's lunch shift to keep helping- we ran out of popcorn, so more for next time. Still, it was so much fun! The kids had a blast and enjoyed the popcorn, I'm pretty sure they didn't notice when we switched to the store bought:). DJ Dr. A kept the beats coming and the 5th graders are going to work on their requests for an even better playlist next time. Thank you to everyone who was able to join us to make the lunch fun for all.
We are welcoming our new kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Elena Fitzhenry, to our school community. She got to meet all of our kindergarteners on Friday and we are so happy to have her join our team ! With this addition, kindergarten only will begin an ABCDE specials rotation starting Tuesday.
I will be out on Friday. My husband has a high school football reunion in his hometown of Auburn, NE Friday night. Dr. Alfred will be here if you need anything on Friday.
Please reach out at any time to share any questions, concerns, or ideas. I am here to help and support you and your family. Thanks for all you do to help keep our students and staff safe.

Welcome Mrs. Fitzhenry!
Hi Robinson Families and Staff-
I am so excited to be a part of such a wonderful school community! I wanted to share some information about myself. I can't wait to meet you all and support our students.
My first professional teaching experience was a First through Third Multi-age Montessori class in the St. Louis Public Schools. I also taught First grade for five years at Bayless Elementary. I have enjoyed substitute teaching for all grade levels in the Kirkwood School District and for the Special School District, as well. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Harris-Stowe State University and a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from National Louis University.
I live in Kirkwood with my husband, Mike, our two kids, (Nick and Lauren), and our sweet dog and cat. We love spending time together as a family, vacationing and doing outdoor activities. Some of my favorite hobbies include gardening, hiking, scrapbooking, and sports. I love animals and nature!
Sincerely-
Mrs. Fitzhenry

KSD Fall Family Survey
The Kirkwood School District values your feedback! We are currently surveying our families in order to gain insight into your perception of our school and district effectiveness. To ensure we continue to provide high quality, rigorous learning experiences that meet the needs of our learners and foster a climate of belonging, we want to know what you think.
You may complete the survey online using a computer, tablet, or smartphone. In order to ensure the results can be helpful to each building, you will need to click on the building your child attends. If you have students in more than one building, please fill out a survey for each building. To fill out the survey, visit: https://surveys.panoramaed.com/kirkwood/fall2022family Robinson Elementary Family Code: 5097776426 To administer these surveys, we have partnered with Panorama Education. KSD Volunteer Process
KSD has streamlined the required application process to volunteer at our schools. As a reminder, this is in compliance with Missouri law and KSD policy.
KSD families can now apply to volunteer for school activities such as field trips by an online application form. This new digitized system will improve turnaround time to get those who want to volunteer in our schools processed sooner.
First, please visit kirkwoodschools.org/KSDVolunteer and complete the online form.
Once completed, you’ll receive an email from human.resources@kirkwoodschools.org advising you of next steps which will include:
Directions on completing the fingerprinting (Missouri Automated Criminal HIstory System MACHS)
and
2. Family Care Safety Registry through the Department of Health and Senior Services (background check).
Once you complete both steps (fingerprinting and background check), please inform our HR team at human.resources@kirkwoodschools.org so that they can be ready to finalize and process your application to volunteer.
Thank you for your partnership as we work to streamline processes and keep our schools safe for our students. Should you need assistance in completing this form, please reach out to our Human Resources team at 314-213-6103.
The federal program allowing all children free breakfast and lunch has ended
For the past two years, funding provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture made it possible for the Kirkwood School District to provide breakfast and lunch free of charge to all students. This funding has expired, which means that free meals will no longer be available to all KSD students (effective May 26th, 2022).
Families who qualify for free or reduced-price meals must fill out an application for the 2022-23 school year in order to receive free or reduced price meals. Even if you have filled out a form in the past, you will need to reapply for the 2022-23 school year.
Filling out a form could result in additional financial assistance for your family. In KSD, those benefits include:
50% reduction in student technology fees
50% reduction in middle school and high school annual activity fee
50% reduction in bus pass fee
KHS students qualify for testing and college application fee waivers
If you are not sure if your family qualifies for free and reduced-price meals, you can see FAQs provided by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education here.
