Skyhawk Staff Update
A Peek at the Week from Layton Elementary
Title I Monitoring Visit Coming
As we prepare for our Title I visit on Sept. 25, I'd like to remind you to get your disclosure in the Layton Elem Staff Notebook. Please put your daily schedule in there, as well. I need to be able to tell our visitors when you will be in your classroom teaching when they do their observations. They will be especially interested to see how we are implementing some of the things we have learned from RCA. I'd love to see us continue to ask students to stand when they answer questions or address the class.
Be The One!
As I talk to students everyday, some are sad to go home because they have so much fun with you everyday at school. It's great to know that there are some kids for whom you are their happy place! What a privilege that is!
Share to Learn
Here is a great sketchnote to remind you about the benefits of sharing to learn. When students share their learning, they cement their thinking! Thanks for helping make our school a busy place to communicate with peers (both for adults and kids.)
Working Out Loud
WOL is part of the culture at Layton Elementary. We are working hard to incorporate all these components into our classrooms. I especially love the statement: "The currency of real networking is generosity." We are wired for kindness and reaching out.
