The Weekly Hoot
April 8-14, 2019
Greetings All -
Happy Sunday! Let me try to get this Hoot out again since I screwed up so badly Friday night! LOL! I always look at last year's Hoot from the same week to make sure I don't miss anything. I am not sure how I sent out last year's Hoot, but everything I typed on the new one was gone! I am sitting here watching the rain, cooking some beef stew, and listening to Donovan play guitar this morning. Maybe that has me calm and collected so I can get this done correctly this morning! LOL!
This week is our first round of STAAR testing. I know that we all dread it, but I certainly appreciate the amount of effort each and every one of you put into it in making sure that our students have the best possible chance to succeed. Thank you so much for the extra time. I know our students are going to do great.
Speaking of that, on Tuesday Coach Coronado and Ms. Allgood will hold the students in the gym until 7:50. At 7:35, I need all teachers (regular teachers, student teachers, and methods students) in the gym to help with crowd control. At 7:50, I will do announcements "old school assembly style" and then we will make a tunnel for the fourth and fifth graders to run through. After that, we will dismiss PK-3rd grade with their teachers. It shouldn't take longer than 5-10 minutes.
We are beginning what I think is the busiest "season" of the year...the "end of school" season. I appreciate the everyone keeping up the level of engagement that is being seen as we walk through the halls. I know, at times, it would be easier to give busy work to your students and get some of the endless things we ask you to get done completed, but it is nice and reassuring to know that you all are professionals and are not doing that. I know that I thank you, but I promise your students thank you also.
I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend!
Love to all,
Marcy

Connie Wetuski for going above and beyond helping to tutor kiddos one-on-one, help teachers analyze data, and just basically doing whatever is needed to help you teachers be successful during testing season. I don't say it enough for sure, but I sure do appreciate her! :)
