5 Ways to Keeping Your Kitchen Safe
Being safe in the kitchen -
Keeping your kitchen clean, including worktops and chopping boards, is essential to keep food safe. Otherwise bacteria can grow and spread. Not only that, other hazards exist in the kitchen which could cause accidents to occur. The following tips are aimed at helping you to upkeep a safe kitchen environment.
Wash Your Hands!
Remember to wash your hands before handling food to minimise germ spread.
Keep Food out of Danger Zone!
Keep food out of the 5-60 degrees Celsius zone to slow germ growth.
Separate Raw and Cooked Foods!
When cooking and storing foods, separate the raw and cooked food to prevent cross contamination.
Use Different Coloured Chopping Boards!
Use different coloured chopping boards for different food groups to prevent cross contamination.
Ensure Effective Pest Control!
Keep the kitchen and food storage clean by ensuring effective pest control measures are in place.
Don't Work If You're Sick!
If you have suffered diarrhoea or vomitting in the previous 48 hours, stay away from the kitchen to prevent germs transferring onto the food!
