From the Principal's Office...

Merry Christmas!

As we were reminded in Mass today, we don't celebrate Christmas on just one day of the year. Christmas is a whole season starting with the 12 Days of Christmas between Christmas and Epiphany and lasting until Candlemas on February 2. It is a wonderful time to celebrate the love that brought God from heaven when Jesus came to be born to Mary here with us. That love isn't some distant far-off thing, it is right here and now and we can make it even more present in the love we show to one another each and every day of this wonderful season.

We are grateful to be starting 2023 with each and every one of you. We are blessed by your children and take seriously our partnership in helping your child become who God created them to be. Thank you!

Don't forget tomorrow is a Spirit Day. Your child may wear their yellow Spirit Shirt with uniform bottoms tomorrow, Friday, January 7. Our Vocation really is Mercy!

Dressing for this Crazy Michigan Winter

How do we keep up? I have lost track of the changes in the weather today alone and they say it is going to be in the upper 40's again this weekend. Because we know that taking a brain break and getting fresh air and movement helps our students learn, we do our best to get outside every day. It was snowing today and we had children at school without gloves and warm gear. This may be one of those winters where keeping an extra pair of gloves and hat in your child's backpack could be the answer on these changeable days.

Thank you for helping us keep kids dressed appropriately during recess.

Virtue of the Week: January 9-15 Sincerity

Definition: Trustfulness in words and actions; honesty and enthusiasm towards others.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, Please give me the grace to be honest in all my words and actions. When someone is speaking, give me the patience to listen attentively.

Catholic Schools Week On-line Auction

We will be hosting our online auction during Catholic Schools Week, February 2-4, 2023. As you shop those after Christmas sales, please keep in mind putting together a basket to donate to the auction. We will be accepting donations as soon as we return to school. All donations should be at school by Friday, January 20 in order to be photographed and included in the auction.

All school volunteers are required to be Virtus trained (available online) and have a current criminal background check. You may complete the Virtus training at www.Virtus.org>>First Time Registrant.

Criminal background check (iChat) forms can be found here and may be turned in at the office.

The new 2023 KeyCard coupon books are now available in the school office. The price is $30 and includes a coupon book and unlimited use card valid at hundreds of area merchants. Start saving today through December 31, 2023. Our profit is $15 per sale which goes to Home and School to pay for field trips and other school events.
