Principal's Message
Dear Families,
March Madness is once again upon us. One of my favorite times of the year! The weather starts to warm (golfing soon?), spring training is underway, and let us not forget the endless games of college basketball to watch. Of course, March Madness meant something entirely different last year. From all of us here at Meadow View, thank you for your support and encouragement over the past year.
During the month of March, we are inviting students to “march” with friends at recess. Students will walk, led by myself or other staff members and the purpose of “March with Meadow View” is twofold. First, it is a healthy exercise activity while spending time with friends. Secondly, it keeps students engaged on the blacktop while we have our spring thaw (it will happen, right?). Students will be able to collect little plastic feet for their participation. We will begin marching soon and I hope your child will enjoy “Marching with Meadow View.”
Finally, the second report card of the school year will be posted to Family Access this Friday. A report card is one-way teachers communicate with families and students. The following tips may be helpful to you in discussing the report card with your child:
- Remember, relinquish your attachment to the grades, they belong to your child, not you.
- Set aside time to discuss the report with your child without distractions.
- Ask your child what they are proud of and what they would like to improve on.
- Discuss goal setting for the next grading period, steps they could take, and how you can support. Are the goals reasonable and challenging?
- Encourage your child and tell them what you are proud of on their report card and celebrate together.
To view your child's report card:
- Log into your Family Access Account
- Click on "Open Family Access"
- Click on "Report Cards"
- You will be asked to add an Electronic Signature
If you have any questions about viewing report cards, please contact the school office at 262-560-8005. Thank you for your support!
Paws Up!

PTO Fun Run Boosterthon Sponsorship
Do you have a business or work for a business that would like to help with our Fun Run- Dance Fit fundraiser? We would love to see more small businesses getting their names out there. With help from businesses and families in previous years, we were able to raise over $20,000 for our school!
Once again, we are working with Booster to put on an amazing event for our kids. Our run has changed up a bit from previous years and is now a dance fit inclusive event and takes place during the school day. This means that all 475 children get to participate, and everyone receives a t-shirt. Our goal with a sponsorship drive is to cover the costs of those t-shirts.
Packy Snow Day Fun!
USDA EXTENDS FREE MEAL PROGRAM
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service has again extended the free student meals program, providing a free breakfast and lunch option for students until June 30, 2021, or until the USDA confirms that funding is no longer available, whichever comes first. As a result, student breakfast and lunch will be free on the days that students are learning at school face-to-face, and the days that students are learning virtually.
Please Check Your Student Fees!
New Illness Updates
We strongly encourage you to monitor your child's health continually. It's important to be mindful of any illness symptoms that your child may have before sending them to school. Please keep you child home if they are ill.
If you need information on how to contact your school attendance line, please visit the Absence Reporting Information page on our website.
If you need help understanding when your child should return to school, please visit the Absence Reporting Information page or the "OASD Health Services Information" drop-down on the OASD Learning Hub page.
Both pages have detailed illness guidelines and a video from OASD Health Services Director, Mrs. Deal.
