The Willard Weekly
December 14, 2015
Dear Willard Families and Community,
Thank you STEAM Club for teaching families how to watch the Geminid meteor shower, on Sunday night, December 13. It was wonderful to see so many families attend Space Night and our Winter Performances last week. We are so proud of all our students, teachers, and volunteers for their hard work.
This Monday the Instrumental Concerts are at 8:30 and 9:10 am. The Willard Annual Fund has extended their Gently Used Toy Sale in the library through Monday. WAF is also selling first aid kits. Please consider buying a first aid kit for your child’s classroom. The last day orders will be accepted is Monday, December 14. Please support the annual fund. All proceeds go directly to Willard.
Willard Families and Staff are being offered a 10% discount on all printer and ink cartridges from Imaging Solutions. The flier is on our website and in Peach Jar. Twenty percent of the proceeds will be donated to PTA.
On Tuesday we have a cultural singing celebration at 8:00 am. ELAC meets on Wednesday at 8:00 am in the library and PTA meets at 6:00 pm in the auditorium. They will be wrapping presents for all the students to receive the following day, so please stop by to volunteer. SSC meets on Thursday at 3:00 pm in the library, and AAPC’s Read, Write, and Recite is this Thursday at 5:00 pm. All students that completed the book club assignment and read their grade level book should come to present. Lunch with the principal will be this Friday, December 19th for all of the book club participants that completed their book summaries. AAPC meets at 5:30 following Read, Write, and Recite. On Friday we dismiss at 11:55. We are on winter break until January 3. School resumes on January 4.
Young and Healthy Kids are coordinating the USC Mobile Dental Clinic in February. Space is limited for children who qualify so please call 626.795.5166 for more information.
Our IB attitudes for the month of December are enthusiasm and confidence. The profile attribute that we are celebrating is being knowledgeable. Please share these with your child(ren) and discuss how these traits are helpful in daily life.
The Willard Weekly is posted on Willard’s Facebook page. Be sure to like it.
Did you know that all 4th graders receive a free pass for Federal Parks (families are included)? Please check out this website for more information.
