Portola Presents Grease!
Portola's production of "Grease" was held on December 9th through December 11th. Congratulations to the entire cast and crew on four incredible performances. Thank you to everyone who came out to support this wonderful program! Up next for the spring: Aladdin!
Fright Night Film Fest
Portola's 10th annual Fright Night Film Fest was held on October 25th. Our amazing Portola students created their own short scary films. We are so grateful to Matt Winston of the Stan Winston School of Character Arts for judging the contest. Congratulations to our winners. The Grand prize went to the film "The Cereal Killer!" Mental Health Matters Newsletter

With the winter break behind us, and a new semester ahead, many parents and caregivers are reflecting on how they hope to help their children succeed this school year. Student success is not only about good grades or staying out
of trouble, it includes their healthy emotional and mental development. Research has shown that acts of kindness and care for others has a positive impact on child brain development and mental health. The giving and receiving of kindness can also make positive changes to already developed adult brains. On January 16th, we observe the birthdate of Civil Rights Leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. His consistent, yet powerful, message was one of love and kindness, reminding the world that hate can never be a solution for a better tomorrow. January 23-26 marks The Great Kindness Challenge during

Congratulations to all of the amazing performers of Portola's Got Talent 2022! We are so proud of your hard work. 3rd place (tie) - Siena Volpe & Savannah Skorupski (Dance), 2nd place - David Lutsenko (Pirates of the Caribbean on the piano), Grand prize - Lucas Lee (Cello Concerto). On-Campus Volunteers!
We are thrilled to welcome parent volunteers back on campus! Volunteers are needed to help at school in various capacities. Interested parents and community members must complete the online volunteer application on LAUSD's School Volunteer Management System. You can access the online registration process and application at HERE. All on-campus volunteers are required to be fully vaccinated.
