Principal's Message
Dear Sabre Families,
Whether you are a football fan or an entertainment fan of commercials, we hope everyone had a fun Superbowl Sunday and stayed warm.
Speaking of staying warm, this will be a frigid week and we encourage all students to come to school dressed appropriately. We understand that there is sometimes a ‘coolness’ factor with teenagers in bundling up, pardon the pun, but we do have extra gloves and gear in the office should any student require them and we will be keeping a watchful eye for those students who are ill equipped as they enter the building.
Although our SAL students are turning into big kids, we will always embrace them with an intentionality that they are still our little kids.
This week brings us to a full five day week as we settle into Quarter 3 and the second half of the school year. It also brings us to our Virtual Open House on Thursday for our prospective Grade 9 students and families. While it won’t be the same as having everyone coming to ‘our house’ in person, it will be pretty neat, with many interactive features that we will share with our current students and families in next week’s edition of the parent Sabre Scene.

As an additional programming note as we start the second half of the school year, we will be offering an opportunity to any student needing additional credits linked to curriculum in the personal fitness, physical education and leadership stream, which will run off the timetable, specifically after school. Like everything we do in our building, it will be in line with our EIPS and AHS safety protocols. This will be offered after school and we ask that if you are interested to email Mr. Melnyk at grant.melnyk@eips.ca.
A follow up email will arrive back to you later this week from Mr. Melnyk with more specifics once we receive the initial, expressed interest.
As a continuation from our ‘blast from the past’ and to our parents of the 80’s, here is our Grad Video from 2015 - enjoy!
Take care, stay warm and let us know if you have any questions.
