Patti Truesdell-KUDOS for Hope Staff and Crew
Just wrapping up a great week in Hope - -and wanted to thank you all for this outstandingly successful week – Staff went (as always) above and beyond their usual excellent jobs to make it a great week. Ms. Tara is going to be a great teacher, and we will always be proud and happy that we could be a part of that success.
I will be honest, I was a little nervous about how this idea of doing a “Mexico trip” was going to play out with our multi-grades - -but everyone worked hard with the concept and made it work. Christen took my idea for the market and WOW - -just flew with it; and the children loved it! Eugene (as always) pulled together with the math program for little and bigs … Tara did the conversational Spanish for 4th through 11th grade, helped me with language arts, and helped a lot a lot a lot with the littles. Christen taught a couple of history classes that students will long remember. Never to be outdone, Diane handled art and music every day with lots and lots of fun, and threw some special activities for the week! We even had face painting! Alumni Ben and Tessa joined into the mix with a fun, taco-bar luncheon for parents and community on Thursday. The little guys, along with Ms. Tara and myself .. made homemade tortillas… and no mess at all NOT!! But they were good It was very cool to see those little guys rolling out those tortillas – It was sort of messy!
The wrap up party – ended with a line at the piñata …. Little kids/tiny ones up to big ones all lined up – Scott (did I mention Scott? – Truly heroic efforts all week long..) Scott handled the piñata – but guess who took that piñata down – No less than power house – IAN!! Took that down in three swings – Who figured that kid for a piñata KILLER?! Head came right off spilling candy everywhere!
River gave a nice going away talk and thanked Ms. TARA for coming. KUDOS to all – No behavior problems of any kind. Everyone learned a lot – We have to throw that in, but in this case it is true. This is a great staff, and they truly came through Mr. Hayman. I feel fortunate, and a little well, maybe because I am tired, but I feel really blessed to have this staff and crew. Thanks to everyone for their hard work. Hope you all have a great weekend. You sure do deserve it. I am heading to Soldotna for the weekend.
