MAP is an online assessment that Franklin teachers and other professional staff use to determine your child’s achievement levels, academic growth, and other information that can help to improve teaching and learning. PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCE SIGN UP
VISITORS & VOLUNTEERS IN SCHOOL
In regards to visitors or volunteers, any person entering any school building during the school day when children are present for school is required to wear a mask, regardless of vaccination status. Masks should be worn at all times when in the building, and the visitor/volunteer should limit direct contact with others and maintain social distance (6 feet or more) when able.
Visitors and volunteers who are outdoors during the school day where students are present are required to wear a mask unless they have been vaccinated. Visitors or volunteers in the building after school, in locations where students are not present, are not required to wear a mask.
We are excited to be opening our doors again to parents coming into our school this fall. Our goal is to continue to limit direct contact and maintain social distance. Due to the nature of the lunchroom and playground protocols and the need for limiting these interactions, at this time we would not have volunteers or visitors during lunch and recess. When this changes in the future, we will include an update in the weekly bulletin for families, and visitors/volunteers will be required to follow our visitors and/or volunteer registration processes outlined on this page of our website.
GOOGLE UPDATES & RESTRICTIONS FOR 4K-12 ACCOUNTS
Google Updates Restrictions for 4K-12 Accounts
As of September 1, Google changed their access to some of their Google services for all 4K-12 education Google accounts. Students in FPS started to see the effects of these new restrictions this week. Google has implemented these restrictions to protect student privacy and security and to restrict content designated as over 18.
The new restrictions enforces Google's Safe Search feature and limits YouTube access to videos categorized for education and appropriate for under 18. More details from Google can be found here.

BUS REMINDERS
Bus Driver Shortage: Please review this document that we shared on August 31 with all families to make you aware of how a bus driver shortage could impact our bus routes and how we will communicate this with you in the event we can not secure a driver for your child’s route.
Bus Riders Wear Masks: Any individual on a school bus (or any public transportation) is federally required to wear a mask. Please make sure your student has a mask before heading to the bus. Even if students are choosing not to wear a mask while at school, a mask must be worn on the bus at all times. Thank you.
Need a Bus Change or Addition? If you have any additions or changes needed for the busing of your child, please use this Bus Change or Addition Form.
Bus Drivers Needed: We are continuing to support First Student in their recruiting efforts. First Student provides $21/hour starting pay, a $1500 sign-on bonus, paid CDL training, 20-hours a week guaranteed with extra hours available, a child ride-along program, and no experience necessary. If you are interested in a career with First Student or know someone who may be, please pass along this opportunity. All hiring information for bus drivers is here.
NEW PARENT PICK UP PROCEDURES
Each family is assigned an individual parent pick up number to use if you choose to pick up your student at the end of the school day. You should have received your number from your students homeroom teacher during the Open House on Wednesday. This number should be kept in your car. When arriving in the parent pick up area, please have that number clearly visible to our staff on the passenger side of your vehicle. Your students will then be dismissed from their classrooms to meet you by our parent pickup line.
Your student’s teacher will know your family number and will assist in letting your students know they may exit the classroom and head to the parent pick up area.
Click Here for Parent Pick up and Drop Off information regarding students that are brought to or picked up from school by personal vehicle.
