Presence Of Guns Makes Conflict More Violent

Reduce Number Of Accidental Gun Deaths

Having fewer guns would reduce the number of deaths. Approximately 50% of unintentional fatal shootings were self-inflicted and most of the firearm deaths were caused by friends or family members. Guns have nine times the amount of accidental gun deaths and "89% of unintentional shooting deaths of children occur in the home -most of these occur when children are playing with a loaded gun in their parents absence. More Gun Laws Are Needed To Protect Women From Domestic Abusers/ Stalkers

Enforcing more gun control laws would decrease the risk of women being injured or killed with the presence of guns. Five women are murdered with guns everyday in the U.S. A women's risk of being murdered increases 500% if a gun is present during a domestic dispute. Between 2001- 2012 6,410 women are killed by an intimate partner.
