Violence in Georgia on March 16, 2021
As a representative of the Cherry Hill School District and A. Russell Knight Elementary School, the health and safety of our students, families and staff are of utmost importance.
I am deeply saddened by the evil actions that took place on March 16th and I grieve with the families who were impacted by the crime.
Please know that A. Russell Knight's community stands with our Asian students, families and staff.
Please contact your teacher, Mrs. Rickansrud, our counselor or me, if any of your children are struggling with processing what took place on 3/16.
Regards,
Mr. Eugene Park
Principal, A. Russell Knight Elementary
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
One area we still need support with is students sitting in their assigned bus seats. It is critical for our students to sit in their assigned seats in order for Knight staff and the state to effectively contact trace.
Thanks in advance for all your support.

A Message from Our Nurse, Mrs. Hawthorne
As we return to in class instruction:
Please keep in mind that as we return to in-class instruction, there will be daily items for you to remember to help your child return safely.
1. Each morning please complete the latest Covid-19 At Home Screening checklist for each child in your family. Please follow the instructions concerning Symptoms, Suspected COVID-19 Exposure, Travel and Quarantine.
If you plan to travel over Spring Break please email your teacher and the School Nurse (Ahawthorne@chclc.org). There are quarantine guidelines we will follow.
2. Because school will be a four hour day with only one snack, please have your child eat a nourishing breakfast.
Send a water bottle daily.
We ask that snack be: nut and peanut free, dry, easy to open and easy to eat
Students will eat outdoors as often as possible, as this will also be a “mask break” for them.
Your child's teacher may request something for students to sit on, other classes stand (6 foot distanced) to eat.
3. Please dress appropriately for the weather as we will be outdoors as often as possible for PE and 6 ft distanced snack time.
4. Masks. All students are to wear one on the bus and into the school building. Please practice with your child how to wear it appropriately over both nose and mouth. Students should know that they are to keep the mask on at all times unless their teacher directs them to take it off to eat. Masks with vents are not allowed in the school.
Please pack at least one extra mask in their backpack in a plastic bag that they can change into should theirs become wet. Students are to keep mask on if they sneeze or cough and may then change to a dry mask if needed.
5. Chromebook - please make sure it is fully charged each night as there is limited space for recharging in the classrooms. If your child's device doesn’t hold a charge, also pack the charger daily.
