Building Updates/Principal's Note:
July 2022
Dear Woodbrook Elementary Families,
Welcome to the 2022-23 school year! It is with great pleasure and pride that I begin this school year with you as the principal of Woodbrook Elementary. Over the past two school years I have enjoyed working with Woodbrook students and families. I believe these relationships are what build a strong culture for Woodbrook well into the future. I know how important a strong school-home relationship is for our students and I look forward to meeting and working with each Woodbrook family. Whether you’ve called Elkhorn Public Schools home for years or have recently registered with us, we are looking forward to welcoming you to our building on the first day of school,Tuesday, August 16, 2022.
At Woodbrook, the staff is dedicated to the school improvement process which includes analyzing data, writing yearly goals and monitoring progress towards meeting those goals. When we come together this fall, we will begin by developing building and grade level goals. During the 2019-20 school year Elkhorn Public Schools underwent an external review through Nebraska Frameworks.Unfortunately some of our school improvement processes were put on hold during the pandemic. We look forward to making school improvement processes a priority again this school year using the feedback from our recent external review. The Woodbrook staff developed our mission statement. We believe our mission statement captures the values that are important to developing our culture. The Woodbrook mission is to develop a strong family bond by fostering positive, meaningful relationships with each other. We will use our strong relationships to establish a safe learning environment with high expectations where the staff, students and parents work together to create a respectful and responsible community. We will ignite a passion for continuous improvement with a growth mindset to be confident learners today, tomorrow and into the future.

Breakfast and Lunch Information/Menus
Parents are welcome to come to have lunch with their children during lunchtime; however the students and staff need some time to get into a good routine and understand our lunch procedures before visitors join us. We ask that parents do not start joining us for lunch until after Labor Day. This will give us time to ensure all students learn the correct lunch procedures along with having an opportunity to socialize with their classmates. If you would like one of our school lunches, please call the office by 10:00 am of that same day to order a lunch. Thank you for your cooperation.

We are in need of kitchen staff at Woodbrook. Great employees are usually found within our Elkhorn families! If you or someone you know is looking for a job with a great work/home life balance please have them apply so we can start the school year fully staffed and ready to serve meals to our students. No experience is necessary. On the job training is provided.
District Information:
Did you know that Elkhorn is hiring teacher assistants? Even Woodbrook has current openings! Teacher assistants work with a variety of grade levels, teachers, and students and have the same school breaks as students with the exception of a few days prior to the start of school. It's great for parents who want to work outside the home but enjoy the ability to share the same schedule as their children. Apply today and help make a difference in the lives of our students!
