The Titan Way - Respectful Language, Attitude and Actions
What an exciting week. I am so proud of the ASB students and Mr. Lopez. They did an amazing job with the assembly and spirit week. In addition, our sports teams are playing at a high level and we had a great training on Friday about Illuminate (way to team). And to top it all off, we were able to not excess anyone and we hired a new football coach... Mr. Drew Westling. He will join our staff on Wednesday for the remainder of the year.
Just so proud of our school. I hope you enjoyed your Super Sunday.
Let's get to some main points for the week. Please take some time to celebrate our counselors this week. A simple thank you goes a long way during National School Counseling Week!
A. FAC. Please review the notes sent out. Specifically, we are working hard to address the concerns around Restorative Practices. If you are interested in contributing to a dialogue around this topic, please make sure you check in with Mrs. Candelario.
B. Common Syllabus and PLC Planning. Mrs. Candelario has provided an email with specific directions to submit your rough drafts. Let us know if you have any concerns. Remember: This is a work in progress. Don't forget to check in with Karina about pullout days if you need more planning time.
C. Common Formative Assessment Planning. This Friday, we will use our PLC time to build on what we discussed with the Titan Institute and Illuminate Training.
D. WASC Update. A huge component of our WASC will be around our evaluation of school goals and progress. Please be involved in the dialogue as we implement our strategies.
E. Teacher of the Year. Thank you for voting. We will be recognizing our special teacher this Monday and then make a general announcement. Thank you SEA reps for leading the way!
F. Next SSA Training. We are looking for about 20 fabulous freshmen and 20 super sophomore to participate in the next Safe School Ambassador training on February 18-19. We need a well-rounded group of students. Please feel free to give us your suggestions (email Mark Brickley). Please submit those names as soon as possible. We are also looking for about 4-5 staff members interested in the two day training.
G. PD Opportunities. I forwarded an email to everyone last week from Dr. Fulcher. Let me know if you are interested in these great opportunities.
