Welcome to the 2019-2020 School Year
Announcements
New Staff
Please join me in welcoming the following new staff members:
John Zimmerman, 4th grade
Jenna Doares, 2nd grade
Volunteers Matter
Would you like to attend school trips with your child this year? Do you love supporting Pleasant Union by working with small groups and individual learners in the classroom? If so, we need you to register to be a volunteer. Wake County Public School System requires all new volunteers to complete the registration process. If you were approved last year, you must re-register for the 2019-2020 school year. During the first week of school, stations will be set up in the main hallway. The office will also have a station available until 3:15 daily.
PTA
Welcome PUE families to the 2019-2020 School Year. So many exciting events will be happening this year. The PTA welcomes all of the new families to our community. Please look out for our announcements to join the PTA and get a free PUE car magnet! The 2019 - 2020 PUE PTA budget and officers will be posted outside the gym next week! Happy first week for the 2019-2020 PUE School Year!
The PUE PTA
Transportation
You will receive a handout about PUE best practices regarding transportation from your child’s teacher in his/her opening school packet this week. If your child will be dropped off or picked up via carpool, please note all cars must have a carpool tag. If you do not have one, please come in to the main office to get one the first week of school. Additional information regarding arrival, dismissal, and transportation can be found here.
Cafeteria Routines
During the first week of school, we are establishing routines with our students. Please wait until the second week of school to visit your child during lunch.
Beginning of Year Forms
Essential forms will come home with your child next week. An Emergency Locator Card should be completed and returned ASAP so we have accurate contact information. On the back of the card, you will be asked to provide emergency contacts. Please write the name of family members or friends that you would like school staff to contact on the back of the card. It is imperative that you also provide their phone number. If your emergency contact must pick your child up, school staff will check their identification prior to releasing your child.
Other forms of importance are:
Data Verification Form
Military Connected Form
Bus Rider Letter
Parent Student Handbook review and receipt form
Access to Portal-Access Form. Please complete and return this form to Ms. Baginski in the office. Once completed you will have the ability to update demographic information (phone numbers, email) and then be able to view your child's attendance, bus transportation status and bus stop.
