Happy Thursday Vanguardians!

First I would like to congratulate Christian Padgett on accepting an Assistant Principal position in Atlanta Public Schools! Christian, thanks for everything you've done for the team over the years! You will be missed!

Christian's exciting news opens one spot on the Vanguard Leadership Team for a member from the South Learning Community/Achievement Zone.

It is my goal that the new SLC Lead be able to hit the ground running in the Fall, so we are opening applications as of today, with interviews to be held, in-person, at VanCon on June 7th.

Vanguard Lead responsibilities include:

• Meet all normal Vanguard XP requirements;

• Communicate with the SLC/AZ and respond to questions and issues via Teams and email;

• Participate in and lead the work of one of our committees;

• Attend monthly leadership calls in Teams;

• Attend Vanguard events throughout the county;

• Most importantly, represent your learning community, contribute your voice to the leadership team, and help set Vanguard's direction for the future.

The only requirements to apply are that you are currently at an SLC/AZ school, will be again next school year, and have met all XP requirements this year. More details can be found on the application.

The application window opens today, and will remain open until the end of the day next Friday, May 24th.

Instructional Technology has planned several other professional development opportunities this summer in addition to VanCon and the ISTE certification. These classes are now listed in the Edivate in the Instructional Technology catalog. There are online and face to face classes to pick from to learn more about Teams, other parts of Office 365, and Flipgrid. Please check it out and let others at your school know as these courses are open to any Fulton employee. A couple more classes will also be added before the end of the week so be sure to check back!
