A "Love" Letter to Cibolo Creek
Dear Cibolo Creek Family,
This past summer, I made the very difficult decision to leave my previous school to begin a new chapter of life with Boerne ISD. Professionally, I tend to grow where I am planted, and it is hard for me to uproot and leave behind the people – the children – that I interact with each day. My family knows I passionately love my work. With a twinge of jealously, they also know I fall in love with the people. Saying good-bye to my last community brought heartache… but also new opportunities to blossom, and optimistically love again.
I have had 30 school days with the children and families at Cibolo Creek (and slightly longer with the teachers and staff). During this short time, I have confirmed that I do in fact LOVE my job. My heart has also been filled with many moments that have quickly made me fall in love with this community.
For example, I love how our CCES families reach out to me with ideas, questions, and even concerns. As a principal, this is a dream come true! Building a campus where we are all working together to serve our children is the best way to ensure students receive the highest quality education. It is also the most effective way to improve, innovate and grow.
I love how our students bring their energy and excitement to campus each morning. This may seem like an unusual observation; however, it is very evident that our CCES students are motivated little learners, ready to take on the world. I love their curiosity, their spunk, and their smiles.
I do believe that our learners come to school geared up to go because of our teachers and staff. I love how the adults on this campus consistently demonstrate a dedication to our students. They work long hours, with intent, drive, and purpose. They share my vision for our students and as a leader, this puts power behind our purpose
.
Thank you for allowing me to serve your community. And to fall in love again.
Krista Nail
