Building Thinking Classrooms Series Coming Soon!
Do you strive to help students go beyond rote memorization and repetitive calculations? Many traditional classroom norms and habits actually enable “non-thinking” student behavior. In this session, we’ll set the stage for transforming your classroom into one focused on learning-centered, student-owned deep mathematical thinking and learning.
This session is the first in a series of (4) workshops designed to introduce participants to the 14 teaching practices for enhancing learning outlined in Peter Liljedahl’s book, Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics. He recommends a gradual implementation of the practices, so that’s how this series is designed.
This session is geared towards Elementary Classrooms (K-5).
More Information coming soon!
Math RBIS
Researched Based Instructional Strategies for Mathematics (Grades K-12)
Come spend the day with us learning about Researched-Based Instructional Strategies (RBIS) for Math! During this session, we will learn about some common misconceptions and best practices for teaching mathematics in the K-12 classroom. These practices are supported by research and should be present in every classroom, regardless of the instructional materials being utilized.
Location: Face to Face at Region 5
We will provide you with a participant packet for this workshop.
