Last Weeks 'Results', Last Regular Season Match, & Post Season Play
It was a busy week of events last week including our Chipotle Night, Team Pictures, GACs, Prom, Car Cleanse Fundraiser, etc.! We have another one ahead of us so please read below! I also have Summer Tennis Camp information available below so be sure to check that out!
GACs was a lot of fun and came down to the wire. The boys had a really BIG DAY at doubles and 7-8S! We were down 21 to 8.5 from the beginning because FHC had a lot of byes so to come into Day 2 a couple points ahead was a big deal. Day 2 was a long day and it came down to us just needing to win one head to head match against FHC. Despite our efforts and a little bit of mental struggles, they got the best of us and played some great tennis. We only lost Team GACs by 1pt, but everyone earned a medal still showing our progress over the tournament.
We have our last regular season match vs. FZS and this is also our SENIOR MATCH! Really looking forward to testing our abilities against this talented team and celebrating our seniors. See the details for the day below! Parents, just a reminder you need to be there by 300pm! After the results of this match we will know seeding for team districts that will start on May 7th. I know these boys are capable of big play if we can just believe in ourselves a little more! Individual districts will be held over 5/11-5/12. (Note the JV has their tournament this Wed)
A huge thank you to everyone that came out to Chipotle on Monday night following our Liberty Match! We raised $283.83 for the program! We raised another $541 from the Car Cleanse so a huge shout out to the boys and parents involved for working hard (the day after Prom for some) on a Saturday afternoon to give back to tennis.
Finally, I am planning on the end of season celebration to be held likely the Monday or Friday after the last week of school. It will be held at Demolition Ball from 11-1pm. The first 45-1hr I will give out awards, certificates, and show our season recap video. Rest of time is for play and anyone is welcome to join including parents and the rest of the family. It will be $10 a person! Pizza, drinks, and cake. More details to follow!

All returning players are expected to sign up for tennis camp! It is a great opportunity to spend some time with teammates over the summer, work on our footwork and ground strokes, spend some time with Vetta instructors, and we also have a doubles tournament on the last day.
I also appreciate the guys staying for the 2nd-8th grade camp and help run the camp. This is a great opportunity to give back and spread the love of tennis to the future of Viking Tennis.

Make Your Bed
I talked to the boys about making their bed every morning and why it is so important. We had a poll in our GroupChat that revealed most of them don't so here is a video that sort of sums up the conversation and ties into our RISE values.

ACE OF THE WEEK
The Character Aspect
Now that we have gotten through tryouts and preliminary ranking, every week I will be highlighting a player that represents our RISE Core Values and/or demonstrates a great deal mental toughness and quality character. We will have regular discussions about being a good teammate, person, peer, and player.
This week's ACE is ???? Who will it be?
Last Week's ACE: Alex Brisso
Brisso started tennis this season, his senior year. My only wish is that he started sooner because he has proven to be a good teammate and coachable player. He doesn't miss practices and he stays until the end of matches to support on his teammates. He brings a subtle humorous note to the group and I appreciation his presence on the courts.
TEAM DUTIES
Every week I will be assigning practice helpers. These will involve you putting away and getting out the ball hoppers (as well as making sure they are locked up). If we get out Tina or Trixie I will likely have you assist in this as well.
- Whoever I see not helping pick up balls or hustling at practice :)
