1st Annual Alpha Day at the Capitol
“I call you to action. Let us speak for the dawn. Sunrise follows sunset. We need to chart new ways and tread new paths. A great house of brothers, living and dead, brave souls and noble spirits, call upon us to awaken and live—not alone for ourselves, but for our children and our children’s children. We are the faithful. We are the undefeated.” -Bro. Belford V. Lawson (1946)
Call to Action-March 18, 2015
Brothers of the Mighty Missouri District,
Greetings Brothers! Thank you to all of the brothers that have RSVP'd for our 1st Annual Alpha Day at the Capitol for the Missouri District. We are still in need of more brothers to represent our beloved Alpha Phi Alpha and our local communities. Please RSVP and encourage other brothers to reserve their space as soon as possible so that lunches can be ordered for the appropriate amount of attendees. Included in this notification is the updated agenda for the day and the priority bills we will be addressing.
I would like for all brothers that hold the banner of Alpha to attend. There are many issues that will be examined such as voting rights, Medicaid expansion, and discussing ways to ensure an aspect of social justice is present in our state.
The voice and presence of the men of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated is needed. There is no better time to demonstrate that in the state of Missouri, we are faithful and undefeated, rallying to the call of speaking for the downtrodden. Breakfast and lunch will be provided for the brothers that attend this great event!
Fraternally,
Bro. Randy D. Dunn
