THANK YOU!
As if "THANK YOU" could ever be enough!
Thank you all so much for the tremendous support I received throughout this period of school closure. While I'm fairly tech-savvy, I was in no way prepared for the shift from our classroom to the remote classroom. The time demands were outrageous but the emotional strain of it all was far worse. It was so difficult not seeing the children every day. Not really knowing how they were doing and not being able to kneel down aside them to check-in made this model of teaching especially difficult. To all of you who communicated with me regularly so that I would know how your child was doing, I say THANK YOU. It made such a difference for your child but it also made remote teaching less stressful for me too.
I can't begin to imagine how difficult it was to manage your jobs in addition to managing the demands placed on your child by me. In my opinion, you were ALL rockstars! I hope this summer gives you an opportunity to rest too and to truly enjoy your children without the stress of educational demands. You all deserve this time to rejuvenate.
Thank you so much for the end of the year gifts. I was sorry to have missed the children who delivered them. I was on my deck and never heard the bell. It is probably a good thing because when I saw that sign there was definitely UGLY crying going on. I can't begin to tell you how touched I was. The other goodies, including the gift box from White Cottage, made me feel so appreciated. However, it was your letters of thanks that meant so very much. You just have no idea how much I will treasure that beautiful book of letters. Your letters were heartwarming!
I know your kiddos are ready for Miscoe. Please don't hesitate to contact me or encourage their teachers to contact me if I can be of any assistance. I'd be happy to share any info in the interest of helping your child to make a smooth transition into middle school. Students really do seem to thrive at Miscoe. Encourage your kiddo to get involved. Band, chorus, art club, theater, student government, athletics, and a wide variety of enrichment activities give students the opportunity to meet other children and further develop their identities. Reach out to your child's new teacher early on if you think your child may struggle with the transition. The fifth-grade team is nurturing and they will move slowly at first allowing kids to grow comfortable before expecting too much independence.
Please keep in touch. I always want to know how my students are doing. I love a visit or an email. I will be cheering them all on from right down the road!
Be well families. Know that I will never forget you, your children, or this truly exceptional school year!
Sincerely,
Marie
