Helpful Family Tips for Testing:
1. Please make sure your scholar attends every day that week.
2. Make sure your child gets plenty of rest the night before
the test.
3. On the morning of the test, your child needs to get up in
plenty of time so she won't feel rushed.
4. Feed your child a good breakfast. Research shows that
children do better on tests if they have had a good
breakfast.
5. Do as much as you can to make your child feel
comfortable. Try not to say things to make her feel
more nervous.
6. Reassure your child that no matter the outcome of the
test you will still love her. Encourage them to simply
do their best.
There will be a Good Faith Effort Celebration for 3rd & 4th Scholars who demonstrate during the assessment that they:
Took my TIME on the test (minimum 60 minutes)
I did my VERY BEST
I stayed ON-TASK the entire time of the test
I checked my work and left nothing BLANK
I had a POSITIVE ATTITUDE
This will be a very fun reward that scholars CAN EARN for demonstrating their best EFFORT! Please encourage your scholar to DO THEIR BEST as we want ALL 3rd & 4th scholars to be able to participate in this celebration!

STEM With Dr. Schroeder:
Announcement from Mrs. Lee:
We are so excited to see all the growth that our scholars have made this year! To showcase their learning, Rise will be hosting our first ever Scholar-Led Conference Night. It will also include our Presentation of Learning. It will be held on Wednesday, May 31st from 4:30-7:00 pm.
In an effort to have scholars take more ownership of their learning, they will be explaining/demonstrating to you what their strengths are and what needs to be improved as well as share their PBL from 4th quarter.
What to expect when you arrive:
Scholar-led conferences will be held in the homeroom classrooms. There will be around 5 families in at a time. Conferences will be 20 minutes. After conferences, you and your family are welcome to join the PTA outside to celebrate our new playground with hotdogs cooked by the Lexington Police Department. If you would prefer an individual conference please reach out to your scholars’ teacher and they will set up a time and date.
Scholars will be discussing their progress and data from classroom data found in the Growth Check, MAP, NRSGRA(reading level), and other progress monitoring tools. They will then share their PBL that their group has prepared. There will be other conferences being held at the same time. The teacher will be in the room if you have any questions about academic and behavior performance. Scholars will be prepared to answer any questions regarding their math, reading, PBL and behavior performance in school. They get really excited about bragging about themselves :) We look forward to seeing you!
Stay tuned for more information about the pinning ceremony!

The STEM Bus Comes to Rise!

Rise Teacher of the Year:

Makerspace with Dr. Witt:
45 3rd and 4th scholars attended the 2023 STLP state competition this year. 4 groups of girls worked all year on projects which they presented to judges. A group of scholars also represented Rise in the live robotics line competition for the first time. At the event, scholars earned badges by completing STEM experiences. We are so proud of these scholars for all their hard work and mastery of technology!
