Temperatures are starting to drop so please have your child dressed appropriately for the weather. Due to COVID-19, we do not have extra hats, mittens, boots for your child if they forget to bring theirs. Please pack an extra set gloves and a hat in your child's backpack each day. If you need assistance with purchasing coats, hats, snow pants, boots, gloves or other cold weather gear please give me a call or email me. Thank you!

School Store Fundraiser
Hello Parents,
I want to personally thank all of the families who have already participated in our SchoolStore fundraiser! We are on our way to reaching our goal, but we need everyone’s help to make sure our teachers get the essential tools they need to help our students succeed.
If your family hasn’t participated, there’s still time!
This safe and easy fundraiser is 100% online so there is no face-to-face selling, collecting money, or delivering products. Participation only takes 12 minutes and your child will win fun and exciting prizes. Every student will receive a prize, just for participating. More prizes will be rewarded when goals are reached.
Please help now. It really will make a difference.
Go to https://www.schoolstore.net/sid.t?0000161992 to show our valued teachers your support.

PS: Family participation is the key to our success, and we are counting on you!

Students in households that meet the free or reduced price meal income guidelines will generate compensatory revenue for their school. Schools must use compensatory revenue to meet the needs of students who are behind their peers, such as remedial instruction, instructional materials including digital learning and technology, bilingual programs and additional teachers and teacher aides. These applications may also make teachers in your school eligible for the federal Teacher Loan Forgiveness Program if they have outstanding college loans. However, the household must complete and return the forms, or complete the online form, no later than December 15 so the school can calculate eligibility and report to MDE.

Childcare
According to Executive Order 20-82, districts must provide care for Eligible Children at no cost during the time children are typically in the school building for regular hours. School-enrolled school-age children age 12 and under who are children of critical workers in Tier 1 of the state critical worker list are eligible for the free care from 7:30am-3pm. Calendar days that are originally scheduled non-school days do not qualify as Tier 1 prioritized days. All families are equally eligible for fee-based childcare on these days (for example, MEA break).
Tier 1 is defined as:
Healthcare and public health
Law Enforcement, public safety and first responders
Food and agriculture
Judicial branch (essential Services)
National Guard (activated under a Governor Executive Order)
Educators in pre-K through grade 12 settings
School staff caring for children of critical workers
Childcare and school-age providers
The school-age care for children of critical workers is intended for extreme circumstances in which no parent or guardian is at home and both parents/guardians meet the Tier 1 definition. Districts must provide transportation for those of Tier 1 workers if the family determines it is a need.
ROCORI Childcare programs plan to care for as many families as they safely can. With current space and COVID-19 guidelines, our program can accommodate 80 school-age students per day.
What if your family needs care but does not qualify as tier 1?
Any district can serve their district enrolled children beyond tier 1 as a fee-based program. In the interest to keep costs as affordable for families as possible, we have kept our rates low and aligned with Spartan SPOT:
Before School: $4.00 (same as SPOT)
School Day: $10.50 (free for tier 1 families)
After School: $10.75 (same as SPOT)
The total for the entire day is the same as a regular non-school day and summer day ($25.25) in ROCORI’s Spartan SPOT program.
To register for childcare during a distance learning model, please go to https://rocori.ce.eleyo.com/child-care/3/spartan-spot and click “enroll now” and follow the prompts. If you have participated in ROCORI Community Education activities before, please use the same log-in information.
