Stuffed Monsters
Our 7th graders have been sew busy in art class! We are finishing our stuffed monsters and are excited to see the reactions of the 2nd-grade artists who created the drawings our 3D monsters are based on. These 7th graders are using a variety of stitching techniques and creating some really fantastic monsters - I am so proud of their perseverance and dedication to this month-long project.

Poetic Power
Middle Ages Comedy Skit
To kick off their unit on Medieval Europe, each 7th grade Social Studies period created a comedy skit. They began by choosing roles (royalty,
nobles, knights, and peasants). They researched what life was like for people in their social class so they could help two 7th graders with a
time machine and an upcoming history project learn about living conditions, food, pastimes and entertainment, and work. They did a great job
making their scenes both funny and informative.

Beyond Passwords: The Power of Multi-Factor Authentication
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is a security technique that requires users to provide two or more forms of identification to access an account or system. This is done to increase the security of the authentication process, as it makes it much harder for unauthorized users to gain access to sensitive data or systems.
There are three basic types of factors that can be used in multi-factor authentication
- Something you know: This is usually a password or a PIN code that only the user knows.
- Something you have: This is a physical device that only the user has, such as a smartphone, smart card, or token.
Something you are: This refers to a biometric characteristic, such as a fingerprint or facial recognition, that is unique to the user.
Here are some tips for using multi-factor authentication effectively
- Use it whenever possible: Whenever multi-factor authentication is offered, enable it for your accounts.
Choose strong factors: Use a combination of factors that are strong and difficult to compromise, such as a long and complex password, a hardware token, and biometric authentication.
Keep your factors separate: Don't use the same factor for multiple accounts or systems, as this increases the risk of compromise.
Use a password manager: A password manager can help you generate and store complex passwords for your accounts, making it easier to use strong passwords.
Be aware of phishing attacks: Multi-factor authentication can help protect against phishing attacks, but it's still important to be vigilant and avoid clicking on suspicious links or downloading suspicious attachments.
