Role of Bacteria in our world
Lenna K
Decomposers
Bacteria helps decompose dead organisms. Without them, our world would be polluted and have many harmful micro organisms
Nitrogen Fixation
Plants need nitrogen to grow, but they cannot directly use nitrogen. Nitrogen-Bacteria helps convert nitrogen so the plants can use it.
Benefits our health
Bacteria is in foods such as yogurt, cheese, buttermilk, and sour cream. They help break down lactose in milk and turn it into lactic acid.
They are also used to make antibiotics and other important medicines.
In the 1970s, scientists found a way to use bacteria and make human insulin for people with diabetes. Once insulin was made, they separated it from the bacteria and gave insulin to people with diabetes
