SHS Track Making History!
Great info from former Warrior track star Kristopher Sandlin: Kaden would be the first athlete to qualify under the newest qualifying system (top 3 from regionals to state) for 3 events. This is only the fifth relay at SHS to qualify for a boys state meet. The first relay team since 1959!!
Thanks Coach for that great info and for keeping Scottsburg Track History for us!
Senior & Graduation Information!
The 122nd Annual Commencement Program at Scottsburg High School is scheduled for Sunday, June 9, 2019. The program will be held in McClain Hall and will begin at 2:00 p.m. No tickets are required and seating is on a first come, first serve basis. Doors will open at 1:00p.m. Limited parking is available on the high school campus. Shuttle buses will be provided to transport people from the First Christian Church and The Rock parking lots to McClain Hall for the commencement program every fifteen minutes beginning at 1:00p.m. until 2:00p.m. The buses will return people to their cars following graduation.
Any senior participating in commencement must attend graduation practice on Wednesday, June 5. If you do not attend practice then you will not be able to participate in the Graduation Ceremony. This is a regular school day so students should arrive by the 8:04 tardy bell. Practice will be held in McClain Hall. Cap & gown, honor medals, and cords will be distributed. Students will do a walk at the SCSD2 elementary schools then return for the group picture. We will then have a run-through of the ceremony followed by individual pictures. Pictures may be viewed and purchased on-line, information will be provided to the students. Seniors will be released after the practice is concluded. Students without transportation home must follow their normal schedule of classes.
Students will meet in the Commons at SHS at 1:15 PM on Sunday, June 9th with their cap and gown, ready to line-up. Counselors and administrators will help them line up in order. Right after the ceremony Graduates will walk back as a class and pick up their diploma in the Commons. Remember: Your behavior during the ceremony will determine whether you are eligible to pick up your diploma afterwards!
