Bronco Bulletin
November 2023 Edition
A Note From The Principal
Dear Brosnahan Parents & Guardians,
To say I'm thankful for this Brosnahan community is an understatement. I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful campus and community family. During this time of year, we focus on what we are thankful for. For me, our students, our parents, our families and our staff is a huge blessing to which I am thankful for all year round.
With love,
Dr. Silliman
Student Chromebooks Coming Home
Student chromebooks will start coming home on November 1st. We want to ensure students take good care of them when at home. They should bring them to school every day. We will have a "homework" calendar that goes home every month for students to practice skills using ST Math, Amplify or Amira. Students will receive Bronco Bucks for returning their chromebook everyday (undamaged) and for completing their homework practice on one of the three programs. An adult in the household will need to sign off on the calendar each night they have completed the practice. Please help our broncos strengthen their academic skills and be responsible for their technology when it is at home.
What is ST Math?
ST Math has an interactive link for families. Please click below to learn all about ST Math.

What is Amplify?
Proven to accelerate growth in as little as 30 minutes a week. Amplify Reading is designed for this moment. Give your students the boost they deserve. Amplify adapts to each reader’s unique needs across 13 skill areas. Amplify Reading is built for this moment, providing differentiated, enriching support every step of the way. Learn more about Amplify Reading at: https://readingsuccess.amplify.com/el...
What is Amira?
Amira allows students to choose from several appropriately difficult and engaging texts to read. As students read out loud Amira listens, assesses, and when they struggle, Amira provides feedback and support.
Amira marries speech recognition and artificial intelligence with the Science of Reading to deliver personalized and in-the-moment tutoring to students as they practice.
Attendance Matters
We are tracking student attendance each week. We will be rewarding the class with the highest attendance percentage each week with Bronco Bucks. We will also celebrate the grade level with the highest attendance percentage each month with a campus incentive.
Also each month one student with Perfect Attendance will have their name drawn for a family pizza package! All students with Perfect Attendance will be invited to a special Perfect Attendance breakfast. This 9 weeks we will include all students that were here every day at attendance time (10:30 a.m.). For the 2nd 9 weeks, we will step it up by only including students who were here every day at attendance time and have no tardies or early pick-ups.
We ask that you help us with our attendance initiative by arriving on time and limiting early pick-ups. Attendance matters and every instructional minute counts.
Health Guidance
Showing up to school every day is critical for children’s well-being, engagement and learning. Make sure to send children to school if they are:
• Generally healthy and well.
• Participating in usual day-to-day activities.
• Children can even go to school if they:
• Have a mild cold, which may include a runny nose and/or cough.
• Have eye drainage without fever, eye pain or eyelid redness.
• Have a mild stomachache.
• Have a mild rash with no other symptoms.
• Have been fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication.
Avoid keeping children at home unless they are too sick to participate. Please see the back of this handout for details. Note that in most situations, a health-care provider’s note is not needed to return, you can send a parent note.
Please note: This document is not meant to take the place of local health department guidance about contagious illnesses such as Covid-19 and the flu. Children may also avoid school due to anxiety (symptoms may include decreased appetite, feeling tired, stomachache, headache, etc).
If you are worried that your child may be suffering from anxiety, talk with your child’s teacher, the school nurse, counselor or other school staff to discuss the challenge and identify what can help your child stay in school.

Fundraiser Update
Our Step it Up Fundraiser was a HUGE Success! We raised a little over $30,000!!! A portion of this goes to the Fundraising company, but the majority of the money is ours. We are able to purchase soccer goals and have them installed. We are also looking to purchasing a tire swing type of equipment that kiddos love. So they should be installed soon! Thank you for your support!
All students will get to celebrate the success of the fundraiser at the Day of Awesomeness which will be held here at Brosnahan on November 29th. This is a day that the fundraising company brings in several inflatables and a DJ. Students will receive their prizes for the amount of donations they raised on that day. This will take place during their large group time that day.
