Lock Out Today
2nd Grade Musical- RESCHEDULED
Music Memos
Sapphire and Silver Choir students, as a reminder, we moved our concert up a week to Tuesday, April 23rd at 5:30. We will have extra practices going until 4pm the week before the rehearsal. An extra practice schedule will be coming out to students and parents on Tuesday, February 19th.
Additionally, please note the 2nd Grade Barnyard Moosical has been rescheduled for next Wednesday, 2/20, from 6pm to 7pm. We were very disappointed we had to reschedule, but also want to make sure all our students and families are safe! The musical will be about 30 minutes with refreshments and conversation after. The 4th grade Pirates! Musical is also coming up on Tuesday, March 12th, 6pm to 7pm.
In our music classes, we have begun reviewing c position on the electronic pianos in grades 5 and 6. 2nd and 4th grade are preparing for their musicals. Kindergarten and 1st grade are continuing to work on matching pitch and finding the beat and rhythm in songs. In these grades, we have begun to work on differentiating between beat and rhythm, as well as between piano and forte (quiet versus loud) through a series of songs and rhythmic activities. Finally, in 3rd grade, we have begun earning belts with many students already on green belt, or the fourth song in recorder karate! I am very proud.
As a reminder, please support choir by coming to our MOD pizza fundraiser on Sunday, February 17th and mentioning that you are there for the McBride fundraiser.
As always, feel free to call, email, or stop by if you have questions or would just like to say “hi”!.

Lindsay Campbell (3rd Grade Teacher) A parent nominated Mrs. Campbell this week and the nomination said, "I am sure you are flooded with nominations, however Lindsay Campbell DESERVES this award so so so much!! She is amazing beyond words. She has helped my child so incredibly much this year, academically, and emotionally. I notice huge changes in my child at home, thanks to the work of Lindsay. For the first time ever, I have noticed developmental growth in behavioral/emotional development. When my child started to struggle a bit recently and was really pushing the limits, so she started a star chart and my child has been very receptive to it, not to mention, she is always so cheerful and upbeat and positive. She is great at communicating too. As a first year teacher, she is most definitely a natural!!"

Her professionalism and expertise in her field may seem to go unnoticed but in all actuality her wisdom and counsel is what helps her students succeed.
Rosalie Sumsion (Title Teacher) Mrs. Sumsion's calm demeanor and positive words of encouragement just warms the hearts of many. She is a strong boat in a sometimes very choppy ocean of waves. We appreciate having her as a teammate to help improve the lives and learning ready abilities of all the little people we work for at McBride.
Ann McKinney (Kitchen Staff) Ms. McKinney has been nominated for a Together award for her hard work and kindness in putting together the "You Matter" heart campaign that brightened so many people's lives on this Valentine's day in St. Helens.
