Mrs. Walters' News
Dear Bushnell Elementary Families,
Happy Pink Arrow Day! It was nice to see so many wearing pink in honor of our community commitment to beat cancer! I hope you and your family will come to the fair ground this evening to celebrate and cheer on our Red Arrows as they compete against Northview this evening. Lots more details are below!
It was also crazy hair day today as part of our monthly celebrations honoring our children and their continual practice of being respectful, responsible and safe! Give your kids a pat on the back for their hard work in these character building areas.
IMPORTANT! If you pick up your child from the classroom doors, you must park your car in the regular parking lot. Parents may not drive along the back of the building to retrieve their child. Buses are parked in that area and are unable to move to get out of the way of excess traffic. For the safety of all, please park in the front.
Also- if you need to make any end of day changes please remember to call them in before 2:45 in order to have the message relayed to teachers, etc.
If you've had any calls, messages or emails regarding missing paperwork, including health appraisals or immunizations, please turn them in as soon as possible. We have state reporting coming up and will need 100% paperwork submission for all of our students.
Conferences are coming up in just a few weeks. Due to our safety protocols, they will be virtual this year and will occur throughout the week of October 12-16. More details will be sent to you through your child's teacher with signup times available to accommodate your schedules.
Fall sports has started up at the high school. However, spectator attendance at athletic events is limited to two (2) spectators for each athlete. Only those spectators that are listed for attendance are able to attend at this time. Watching the games and supporting the Red Arrows is still an option with a subscription to live streaming at https://www.nfhsnetwork.com/schools/lowell-high-school-lowell-mi
Do you have a child birth to age 4 at home? Check out this website for information about how to become part of a learning network for your child! https://www.kentisd.org/early-childhood/bright-beginnings/
Last call for Bushnell Bear T-shirts! If you wish to purchase one for your kiddo, please send the form and money in by Monday September 28th!
Finally, the new mask requirements from the CDC and health department require that there be no holes in masks, including vents. Please have your child wear a mask that does not include the vent or mesh.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Erin Walters
Bushnell Elementary Principal
