Lunch/Mandatory Tutorials
1. To give you more control over dismissal to lunch, we will turn off the dismissal bell to end 4th period. I need you to incorporate a classroom routine that will allow you to dismiss students wearing their ID badge around their neck. Students should not be dismissed before 12:28.
2. If your student is absent from the assigned mandatory tutorial, please send them down to the office when time permits when they report to your class on the following day.
Admin Walkthroughs
As we begin the formal T-TESS appraisal season, be mindful that members of the admin team will be conducting group walkthroughs. Our purpose is to ensure we are consistent when utilizing the rubric when appraising a lesson.
Leadership Meeting 10/5
We will meet with the campus leadership team to discuss PLC and EOC Remediation. If you have any concerns you would like for your department chair to bring to the meeting, please do so before our meeting during 6th period.
Grades
Please remember to discuss with your team regarding the dangers of the "ATOMIC F." We have a practice on campus that we feel that will prevent a student from completely shutting down.
Attendance Taking
Please make sure you take accurate attendance. Just marking, "all present" will not suffice. If you mark all present, but a shows up absent in another class, the district sends us a report.
Movies and Clips
- Movies or clips must be a part of the District approved curriculum or obtained from the video streaming library collections and must be from specific production companies with licensing agreements .
- Whole periods spent watching movies strictly for entertainment are not appropriate.Movies and clips should enrich the written curriculum and students should have some academic responsibility such as completing a study guide, taking notes or writing reflection pieces on the material covered.
Email Correspondence
It is very easy for both parents and teachers to misconstrue the message and tone of an email. When you find yourself going back and forth in an email with a parent, I ask that you pick up the phone or meet with a parent face-to-face to make sure everyone is on the same page. Your last email to the parent may read, "Just to make sure I understand your concern, I will give you call, or feel free to give me a call at ....." At the end of the day, both teacher and parent want the student to be successful.
