Girls Basketball Meeting

Any girls interested in playing JV or SR Basketball, there will be a meeting on Tuesday November 24, 2020 at lunch in the gym. A reminder that masks have to be on and we will talk for 15 minutes max about the outlook of our basketball season.

One Act Directors Wanted!

If you are interested in being a director for One Acts (Advanced Acting) please email Mrs. Johnson ( ASAP. Your first draft of your script must be submitted by December 11th.

Creativity Workshop

Students can come and work on creative writing, artwork, and digital arts along with other like-minded people. The art and design labs will be available to students who want to be around creatives on Monday, November 30 (3:45-4:45). Safety Protocols still apply.

Need Religion Hours? The Thinkfast: Hunger Games Edition

To replace our annual Wake-a-thon, we will be doing a 24 hour fast to help fundraise for the Red Deer Food Bank, along with Notre Dame's Pop up Pantry. December 4-5, 2020: The event starts Friday morning, with an activity at lunch during the day together at the school and after school we will convert to a virtual platform, with social justice activities, sessions and games. We have been doing some collection management here in the Learning Commons and that means we now have a cart full of FREE to take books! Pop by anytime and check out the selection. The cart is located just inside the LC entrance doors on the right. Happy Book-Hunting!

Hiding Textbooks ...?

Do you still have textbooks from last school year hanging around the house/your locker/the back seat of your car?? Support your Learning Commons by returning them this week for another student to use. You can return them to either of the drop boxes outside the Learning Commons anytime. Thank you in advance!

Schulich Leader Scholarships

Nomination is required for the Schulich Leader Scholarship. To be considered as Notre Dame's Schulich Leader nominee, a completed scholarship application needs to be submitted to Ms. Halter by January 4, 2021. An interview with Mrs. McQuay will follow. Optimist International Scholarship Program (Essay Contest)

Please submit 4 copies of your essay to Ms. Halter by January 30,2021. This year's topic is "Reaching Your Dreams by Choosing Optimism". Winning essays at the Red Deer Club level will be considered at the District level for the chance to win $2,500. More details and to download the application:

Simon Fraser University Interactive Webinars: Faculty of Environment

Simon Fraser University (SFU) is in Burnaby BC. SFU's Faculty of Environment is hosting a series of interactive webinars to help students test drive university. Each 45 minute webinar features an SFU professor and current students from different majors within the Faculty including Geography (November 24), Resource and Environmental Management (November 26), Environmental Science (November 30) and Archaeology (December 2). Red Deer College's Winter 2021 Jumpstart Program

Red Deer College's Winter 2021 JumpStart program will be running next term, giving grade 11 & 12 students the opportunity to take a post-secondary course, explore an area of interest and take on a new challenge. Tuition for a JumpStart course is $0, but students will be required to pay for any textbooks. Most of RDC’s courses that are eligible within the JumpStart program are being delivered online, potentially making it easier for students to participate. Kind and Kinder

This is a community built on kindness. We are working towards developing an environment where acts of kindness aren't something that comes as a surprise, but something that we are striving for as a community. Investment Club

The investment club meets every Monday in room 2404 at lunch (new time). All students may come to any number of meetings at any point throughout the year. No experience is required to join. We will be learning about investing in the stock market and participating in an investment challenge running till the end of the year. Explore the world of finance with your peers!
