A Message from Dr. Stone

Hello Timberwolf Nation!

It was another great week at WoodCreek! This past Monday, our PTA President, Beth Hays, was recognized at the Board Meeting for her work with our parents, staff and students. Also, our Adaptive PE teacher, Abbie Wylie, was recognized on Monday as well for receiving a Katy ISD Educational Foundation Grant for our Collaborative PE class. WCJH is honored to have such amazing parents and teachers representing our school!

Safety Concern

In the last week or so, there has been an increase in cars parking in the front lot and students being asked to walk across to get into cars to go home. For the safety of the students and staff, and in order to facilitate moving the car rider line in an efficient manner, we are asking that you please wait in line to pick up your student unless your child has an injury requiring assistance or a large band instrument. We appreciate your cooperation.

In an attempt to help bring awareness and raise donations to help with the family’s medical expenses, we have set up a fundraiser named "Connor’s Crusaders".

Please consider purchasing a t-shirt or making a donation to help bring awareness to childhood cancer and support a very special T-Wolf family.

Thank you for supporting us in our effort to raise awareness and to honor Connor. Please feel free to share the link!!

Counselor's Corner

This September 24-28, your child will be taking part in Start With Hello Week here at WoodCreek Junior High. Start With Hello teaches students the skills they need to reach out to and include those who may be dealing with social isolation and create a culture of inclusion and connectedness within their classroom and school. Social isolation is the overwhelming feeling of being left out, lonely, or treated like you are invisible. It is a growing epidemic in the United States and within our schools. Excessive feelings of isolation can be associated with violent and suicidal behavior. On Tuesday, September 25, your child will learn how to identify social isolation, how to reach out and start conversations, and start with a hello. We encourage you to talk to your child about the Start with Hello program and ask them to share what they have learned. Not only will that help you learn how to support your child to identify isolation, reach out and connect and Start With Hello, it also demonstrates to your child that you take this subject seriously and can support them in their actions to create a more connected and inclusive home, classroom, school and community. For more information on Start With Hello and to sign up to receive the Start With Hello Parent Brochure, please visit: http://www.sandyhookpromise.org/bringstartwithhello. If you have any questions, you may contact your child’s grade level counselor.
