MPVA Weekly Update
December 12 - 16, 2022
Dear Parents and Greyhounds,
This first semester will end in eight days. Please check in with your children to make sure they are not missing assignments and are prepared to end the semester on a high note.
Please see the flyer below which details our last Spirit Week of this calendar year. In addition, we will end our semester with grade level “Winter Socials” on Wednesday, December 21 after our lunch periods. We look forward to having some fun with our students as we head into our Winter Break.
Finally, we are expanding our social media footprint with a new Facebook page. I encourage Facebook users to follow us at https://www.facebook.com/mpva.middleschool.
Please note that this Facebook account is intended to highlight all the great things that happen within our school community. It is not intended as a way for our community/parents to communicate directly with our school. Please continue to reach out directly to teachers, administrators (grade level Deans), counselors, and myself as needed.
Let us make the last eight days of this semester great!
Respectfully,
Mr. Sarabia

Harris Center Information
The Harris Centers’ Mobile Crisis Team (MCOT) is there to support any emotional needs that may occur during this holiday season and beyond. The holidays can be difficult times for individuals and families, and we want to provide as many resources and tools as possible to assist our school communities in their emotional well-being. MCOT will respond to crisis situations after school hours and on weekends to assist our students with staying safe and regulated.

The last day to pick up lost and found items will be on December 16, 2022. Any times that are not picked up will donate to the Goodwill. The Lost and Found is located at the Visitor’s Window.

Greyhound Store
The Greyhound Store is back! This PTO-supported and run incentive program involves students earning "Greyhound Bucks” that they can then spend on trinkets/small items that the PTO provides. The program has already started with Honor Roll Students and Greyhound Store volunteers will start delivering their treats in November.
This month the program will expand school-wide and all students can start earning bucks from any teacher by being responsible and respectful Greyhounds! All students will have an opportunity to spend their bucks every 3 weeks throughout the school year with items delivered during the school day.
If you’re interested in assisting with the Greyhound Store, please email president@mpvapto.com
