Here is some information on course selection from 6th-12th grade:
During the next few weeks, students will meet with counselors and begin considering the courses they wish to take for the 2020-2021 school year in 6-12th grades. There are many decisions to make and paths to choose, especially since GCISD offers so many great options for students. As a way of trying to help make all of this information accessible, the district is launching a "Course Selection Guide" website. This new website has information for parents and students about each course in grades 6-12th, information on graduation requirements, college planning, and more.
As always, please call me if you need anything!

The pervasiveness of the internet and the massive amounts of information available — reliable or not — requires information seekers to also become discerners. Acquiring the skill set needed to select, evaluate, and use information and technology appropriately, responsibly, and effectively is more vital now than ever before.
As educators and parents, it is essential that we educate ourselves and young people regarding the necessary responsibilities and safeguards, as well as the profound benefits that come with living in this digital age.
Join us as we review the 5 Competencies of Digital Citizenship designed by the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE®) and discuss tools and strategies to ensure we and our students are using critical thinking to be Inclusive, Informed, Engaged, Balanced, and Alert digital citizens.

Depending on how old the operating system is, this can take several minutes. The iPad will restart itself when finished. If your battery is less than 75%, plugin during this process.
If your iPad fails to update because there's not enough space available:
1. Delete or back up photos and videos. These can be backed up to your Google Drive or iCloud.
2. Remove unused apps. This ability has been restored for students.
