Week At A Glance

October 7-22, 2017

HSE 21 Corner

This past Friday, John, Jessica, Kim and Randy met with the administrators and counselors from FCJH. We had a great conversation about our instructional and assessment practices, along with several other items dealing with the transition our students make from FCIS to FCJH. We have several ideas to help us understand each other and unify the middle grades (5-8) experience for our students. We visited several classrooms across the school and the most heard comments were along the lines of "great engagement with the students" and how active and enthusiastic our staff was. Of course, we know that and see you do amazing things every day! Thanks for continuing to grow and provide meaningful education for all!

Welcome Our New IA

Our new IA is Diane Azzouz. Diane will begin on Monday, October 23 and she replaces Holly Hoffman. She is a Michigan State graduate. Welcome, Diane, to FCIS!

Volunteer breakfast monitoring :)

Since we no longer have an 8 hour IA at FCI, we don't have someone to daily cover arrival/breakfast beginning at 7:00am. (Generally there is an individual who can come to the cafeteria by 7:20am to relieve a volunteer.) Some staff have offered to assist, and therefore we decided to put out a calendar for all who may want to volunteer.

This is a great chance to greet students and possibly see them in a different setting outside of the classroom to connect with them. Please consider this opportunity and sign up if you are interested. No pressure...remember this is voluntary! Thanks to those who have already helped out!! :D
