The Linne Roar

Inclement Weather Protocols
While we make every attempt to send our kiddos outside for recess, CPS regulations prohibit outdoor recess when the temperature is below 20 degrees. If you cover a classroom during indoor recess, please make sure to arrive on time. Homeroom teachers, contact the office if you are missing coverage. Morning line up is also impacted by weather. We will bring all waiting students into the building at 7:50 am. Homeroom teachers, please do not feel obligated to bring your students into your classroom before 8:00 am. Support staff are assigned to cover the hallways in the Main building. An all-call will be made at 7:45 am letting staff know to report to their indoor line-up stations.
The Counselor's Couch
First and foremost, many thanks to all of you for the well wishes this week. It's very much appreciated and I'm super happy to be back.
My hope is that NWEA testing is going well for all. Again, if you need assistance of any type, please don't hesitate to reach-out and ask. The window will close on January 24th. Our next SEL Grade Level is this coming week, Thursday, January 23rd. As discussed prior to break, we'll continue our emphasis on activities/ discussions tied to Empathy and Communication, so please be prepared to share. I will also have the SEL monthly themes prepared for the remainder of the school year, which I will share with all of you on the 23rd.

Updates and Reminders
- Remember that all students need to be in uniform during the school day. If you notice that a student is out of uniform, please contact the parent (primary grades especially) or send home an "Out of Uniform Notice". See Gina for notices.
- We are out of bandages! More will arrive soon. Unless it's an emergency, please send them to the restroom to clean up and then back to class.
- If you are running late and anticipate arriving after your start time, contact the office (Gina) immediately. This applies to all staff members. ESPs, use caution when swiping out early--your pay could be impacted. Teachers, please do not swipe out before 3:00 pm unless you have permission from administration.
- Monday is a holiday honoring Dr. Martin Luther King. Please remember to take some time to discuss Dr. King's legacy--perhaps connecting his work to our SEL focus of Empathy/Communication.
- Testing? Don't forget to let Gina know what day/time so that we don't interrupt you.
