Finding Joy in Evangelism
I read an article this week on the joy of evangelism. In it, Elliot Clark says, "Evangelism is to be a spontaneous and unstoppable geyser of God's love within us." I don't know about you, but for me, I often do not feel such welling about evangelism in my soul. For most Christians, evangelism is one of those things that make us uncomfortable. It is fear of the unknown combined with the rejection for those whom we would seek to reach that often leads us to inaction.
I personally do no fear encounters with others whom I do not know but I do fear rejection and/or judgement. But a professor once told me, "No one can ever say anything worse about you than what the cross has already said." That has stuck with me over the years. Regardless of what someone else might think about me, my identity is in Christ. It isn't in my inability to speak in front of others or the disorder within my life. The cross has already said everything about me that could be said. But through Christ, I am a new creature and my righteousness is not my own but has been given to my through Christ. I encourage you to see yourself as God sees you!!!!! I have linked the article below for those who would like to reader a bit more in depth. God Bless!!!!!
