Celebrating Robinson's Legacy......April 15, 2018
Jackie Robinson Academy is a special learning community...So proud to be a DOLPHIN!
As TEAM ROBINSON slides into home plate please be advised:
1. Learning takes place UNITIL JUNE 14, 2018...therefore there should be "Daily Learning Intentions" What, Why and How....in active use (teacher/student) for all lessons students are engaged in.
2. Technology integration should be used purposefully and always have a clear "Daily Learning Intention" What, Why and How.
3. Students should not be in the hallways for timeouts longer than three minutes. The door should be open if a student is outside as the classroom teacher is responsible for the student.
4. Protocols for bathroom use state students should be signing in and out of the classroom to use the restroom during class time.
4. Submit all necessary end of year 'grade level field trip information" to SPENKER and CAFE.
Lastly, Don't forget it's SPIRIT WEEK....JROB NEWS SPIRIT WEEK 4/16-4/20:
Technology WOES
HOWEVER,
To ensure that we are able to use/maximize the CHROMEBOOKS for several years we need to ensure that we are taking appropriate care. The care of the CHROMEBOOK is the sole responsibility of the classroom teacher as it relates to established protocols for use in the classroom with students.
The following should not be happening:
1. CHROMEBOOKS on the floor or on the seats/chairs
2. Students walking up and down the stairs with CHROMEBOOKS in their hands and the CHROMEBOOK is open with the screen.
3. CHROMEBOOKS should not be carried by their screen.
4. Trading CHROMEBOOKS with another classroom.
Lastly,
Please note there is NO BUDGET for REPLACEMENT of CHROMEBOOKS from the Superintendent's office or our site funds.

Kindness Boomerang "Link" Challenge....
MS. Spenker challenged our students at the GFS assemblies with a "Kindness Link Challenge":
Observation: Our students are focusing on performing acts of kindness. Take some time to acknowledge kind words and interactions, helping a classmate understand a concept, sharing materials, etc. The more we acknowledge and hand out the paper links, the more they will put kindness into their daily practice.
The "Kindness Boomerang" video is embedded for your use.
