Distance Learning Announcements and Updates, 12/18/20
A Message from Principal Ghereben!
Greetings Proctor Community,
Thank you for your continued support during this unprecedented school year. Times are getting tougher and we are being asked to make sacrifices for one another. As we enter this holiday season, we need to continue to fix our eyes on what's truly important. Supporting and leaning on one another as a community will be even more crucial as we enter this new year of uncertainty.
We are hopeful to bring students back once health conditions improve and health orders allow for in person instruction. We have been working hard to prepare our sites following the county safety guidelines and protocols.
In order to prepare for a successful reopening, we want to share with you information and resources to utilize during the month of January. Upon our return from winter break, you will be receiving communication that outlines some important safety practices that will be required when students return on campus. We ask that you watch and read the information that is sent home so that students are well-prepared to actively participate in safety practices when returning to school.
Beginning the week of January 4th, we will be sharing videos/tools with you and your students that focus on the following topics:
Week 1: Overview of safety procedures and protocols to protect yourself and others
Week 2: Wearing a Mask
Week 3: Six Feet Apart
Week 4: Appropriate Handwashing
Week 5: Personalized Video about school procedures
In the meantime, please remain vigilant and safe this holiday season.
The Regional Stay at Home Order and Health Department requirements are:
Not gathering with others outside of your household
Staying within your immediate social bubble
Not traveling
Practicing social distancing
Always wearing a mask in public
We appreciate your continued partnership through this time in Distance Learning. I want to thank everyone for their hard work, perseverance and partnership. Proctor continues to work to find balance for students and families, and themselves. It is important to remember that this pandemic has affected everyone is different ways, and created challenges for each of us. We need to remain resolved in our support and care for one another as we end 2020, welcome in the new year, whatever that may look like!
Have a wonderful holiday and winter break.
Sincerely,
Heather Ghereben
Proctor Principal
December Friday Flag Assembly!
Student Support Hubs Update!
ALL VISITORS MUST COMPLETE THE HEALTH SCREENER BEFORE ENTERING CAMPUS
Thank you for helping to make our campus safe!
As you enter campus, you will see a flyer posted on all gates and Hub entrances with a QR code. this will allow you to access our Health Screener more easily as you come onto campus. It is important that you fill out the 4 question health survey before you access our campus to ensure the safety of all.
Soon we hope to roll out an App that can be used to complete this which will make the health screener even more accessible for our community to access.
Proctor Student/Parent Health ScreenerHolidays During the Pandemic.....
The holiday season usually is a joyful time but can also come with its share of stress under normal (not 2020!) circumstances. Many families look forward to gathering with relatives and friends, exchanging gifts and celebrating traditions. But COVID-19 and physical distancing have brought a new kind of stress this holiday season.
There are ways families can cut down their stress during the holidays, especially this year. Sticking to routines as much as possible, exercising, eating healthy food, and getting plenty of sleep can help. Pay attention to how much time your kids—and you—spend on screens. And avoid the pressure to spend a lot on gifts, focusing on the simple joy of spending time together.
Here is an article I found helpful and wanted to share with you all on tips for reducing stress, helping kids cope, and making new traditions.
