BEGINNING BAND INFORMATION
Facebook Live-FRIDAY!!!
Date: Friday, February 1
Who? All Beginning Band Students
Where: Scoggins Band Hall
Purpose: Experience “Monster Band” in all its glory!!! We will rehearse as a full band, and then go LIVE on fb to show off what great work you have done! Parents do NOT need to come to the performance. Enjoy this one from the convenience of wherever you are, or later!
Is this required?
The rehearsal and concert is required for all students. This will count as a grade.
Itinerary
3:35-School Ends-Head to the band hall, and meet in the following rooms:
Woodwind-Band Hall(Book Bags in locker or along wall)
Trumpet/Euphonium-Window Room(Leave Book Bags here)
Trombone/French Horn- Choir Room(Leave Book Bags here)
Tuba-Front Practice Room Storage(Leave Book Bags here)
Percussion-Mallet Room(Leave Book Bags here)
3:45-Organize into setup.
3:50-Rehearsal Begins
4:30’ish-Concert goes LIVE! We will give a 10 minute heads up on FB
4:35-Parent Arrival and student pick up
All students should be picked up by 4:45 PM!!

Practice Journals
Students should be marking off each day that they practice 25 minutes, and marking the BONUS box additionally if they practice over 25 minutes to receive the 5 point extra credit. Parent signature needed to be accepted. Practice Journals will be accepted late, but will follow the Scoggins Middle School Late Work Policy.

Weekly Expectations
Listening-Our UIL Programs is in Google Classroom for the students to listen regularly as a reference for style and musicality.
SmartMusic- 30 minutes actively engaged to record on Practice analysis. This counts as a daily grade each week. If tech error call SmartMusic at 866-240-4041 *Percussion Students are excused from SmartMusic Practice Analysis.
Google Classroom Comment-Recording from Friday's rehearsal will be posted and every student is expected to comment with a reflection comparing our performance with the reference recording and how to improve.
