Nuts and Bolts

I put all the twitter handles on a sheet of paper and drew a name. The winner of a free Jeans Day is Stephanie Simmons. I want to be sure we are all following each other. Please be sure to follow me and then you can connect with your colleagues. @bwesseburke

November 28th- ACUITY, NWEA and COGAT begins. Testing documents, schedules and guides are in the AC Google Shared folder/ Assessments folder. Please be sure you've read all documents and are prepared for your first day of testing.

Support the sales of the Major Saver card however you can, classroom newsletters, FB pages, etc.

Curriculum and Instruction

I've scheduled a Data Dig Day for December 9th. I'd like to meet with each grade level to go over your most recent data. For K-2 this will be DIBELS progress monitoring. For 3-5 this will include DIBELS PMing data along with Acuity or NWEA. We will meet in the conference room during your grade level prep time. We are almost 1/2 way through the year and we need to start looking at our progress and creating plans for further instruction where needed.

I will be putting updated Roster Reports and your most recent DIBELS PMing data in mailboxes on Monday.

Reaching ALL Learners

In your mailbox you will find an article regarding Co-teaching strategies. This is a quick and easy read. Every classroom uses either another teacher or assistant and we need to ensure we are working together as effectively as possible. Please be ready to quickly discuss at PLC (first 10 minutes).

1. Which strategy do you use the most?

2. Which strategy would you like to try out?

3. What challenges do you have to make a new strategy work?

4. What is your plan for trying a new strategy?

Athlete Mentors

I've created a Google Sheet with dates and classrooms for student athlete mentors to visit. Please review the dates and find yours. They are listed below and are in a folder in Google Drive for you. If you have any concerns with the date assigned, please let me know. The agenda and schedule that the athletes are given is below.

Technology

If you have a classroom FB page, try out the new Facebook Live feature. This will allow families to see exactly what you are doing in class AS IT IS HAPPENING! Show off a new strategy your class has learned, fun literacy stations, readers theater, art projects, PE activities, choir practice, a student reading a book or practicing High Frequency Words.
