Marlette Elementary News
February 2019
From the Principal's Desk
Our second semester is finally underway (thanks a lot Polar Vortex). The elementary school does not have scheduled winter or spring conferences, so please stay in contact with your child's teacher if you have any concerns. Call Mrs. Redman at 989-635-7427, and she will connect you with whatever teacher you need. Make sure to check out Skyward to stay up to date with grading, attendance, and electronic lunch payments. Feel free to give me a call if you need any help navigating Skyward, 989-635-4925.
We have plenty of engaging activities planned for February and even more in store during March is Reading Month. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for upcoming events and make sure you are signed up to receive text messages via Remind about important events at our school and around our community.
Lollipops for Lifesavers
This fundraiser is especially close to my heart because my baby girl's heart was repaired by the amazing surgeons at CS Mott in 2014. Watch the clip below and feel free to share to encourage participation in this fundraiser through the end of the school year.

Kindergarten Roundup
Our Kindergarten & Preschool Information Night is Tuesday, March 19, at 6:00 pm. We will have representatives from our early elementary department as well as Head Start. We have programs for children as young as 3 years old. Additional details are coming soon. Please give us a call if you have any questions, 635-7427.
New School Shirts
Recess during the winter months
If the temperature is above 0 degrees Fahrenheit (including wind chill) and the weather cooperates, students will have outdoor recess. This means that students must be dressed appropriately for cold weather. Students should dress in layers and have a heavy coat, hat, gloves, and boots at a minimum. Snow pants are always a good idea to help keep the children dry. Please take the time to write your child’s name on each article of clothing in case it ends up on the lost and found rack.
