Tiogue's Faculty & Staff Bulletin
June 6, 2020 - No. 38 (Distance Learning Final Edition)
THANK YOU for everything that you have done for my family and for me this past week. It is so greatly appreciated.
Distance Learning Week 12 - week of June 8th
Thanks for your hard work during this entire Distance Learning time!
Our Distance Learning Plans - found on the Tiogue Website
Important Final Week of School Items:
-Connect with your grade level special educators about potential placements
-Send Carol and me a copy of your suggested supply lists for next year - we will post them on the website and I will send out a final end-of-year email next week to families that will include the lists
-If you come into school during the last week to help with student belonging pick ups you may work on your permanent record folders - only one person may be in the file cabinet room in the back, at one time. We can also arrange for you to work on those paper file when I am working this summer and/or in August upon your return to your classroom. More to come on this at a later date.
-All teacher and SRP evaluations have been finalized - thank you for your cooperation
**UPDATE** 10:30am Sunday:
Please do not come into the building w/out permission or notice. We are still monitoring total number of faculty and staff inside the schools this week. We already have many of our Teacher Assistants coming in this week to help to stuff report card envelopes and to finalize bags for pick up on June 10 & 11.
Please begin to compile your potential supply lists for the fall - if we can order as usual.
Email me with any questions.
Thanks.
A note to families and educators - found in the Weekly Family Newsletter:
I am extremely proud of the work our educators and all of our parents & guardians at Tiogue put forth during Distance Learning. Your unwavering dedication to the children helped to lessen the blow of not having 'normal school' over the past 3 months.
Words can not express how much we all want to thank the children, too!
Students aged 5 to 11 years old were asked to become independent learners (so young and so early) in many cases, and excelled well beyond adult expectations. They took control of their learning, and helped to make this process easier.
School is about community, togetherness, pride, and of course, education. We all did the best we could to keep the learning moving forward while also maintaining a high level of collaboration and interpersonal relationship(s) with all of you. Here at Tiogue we pride ourselves with creating positive relationships with our families, and I truly feel that we proved that to you during Distance Learning.
No matter what the Fall of 2020 may bring, we will be there, standing side by side with you again, planning for the future of OUR CHILDREN.
Many of us have endured great loss over the past 3 months, but our collective Tiogue Family has helped to weather the storm.
Thank you again for your partnership and willingness to share your life and your children's lives with us. As Tiogue Principal, I hope that you know and that you feel that we were there for you...no matter what you may have needed, during this pandemic.
Stay positive. Stay Strong. Stay Safe.
We will come out on top.

The Larry Sanders Show - HBO
Guardians of the Galaxy Pt. 1
Brash space adventurer Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) finds himself the quarry of relentless bounty hunters after he steals an orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain. To evade Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with four disparate misfits: gun-toting Rocket Raccoon, treelike-humanoid Groot, enigmatic Gamora, and vengeance-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when he discovers the orb's true power and the cosmic threat it poses, Quill must rally his ragtag group to save the universe.
The Prince of Tides By, Pat Conroy (THE NOVEL, NOT THE MOVIE)
The Prince of Tides is a novel by Pat Conroy, first published in 1986. It revolves around traumatic events that affected former football player Tom Wingo's relationship with his immediate family.
Read this book for the first time my senior year of HS. Made me (immediately) thankful that I did not grow up in such turmoil. If you have not read the book, I would highly recommend it.
Our Nurse's Corner:
