What is cyberbullying?

As the use of the internet and social media have increased in education and in households, a different type of bullying amongst minors is occurring. Cyber bullying is the cruelty that is inflicted when negative comments are shared through electronic devices such as cell phones or computers.

1/3 of high school students have been a target of cyberbullying.
11% of middle school students have been a target of cyberbullying in the last month.
1 out of 6 parents know their child has been a victim of cyberbullying.
39% of teenagers who use social media have been a target of bullying.
88% of social media teens have witnessed cyberbullying.
