Ebola mainly strikes in countries throughout Africa, and has been spreading worldwide. The virus originated from a small village in Guinea where the first victim, a two-year-old boy, was infected. No one knows how he caught the disease; however, villagers eat monkey and bat meat on a regular basis, and both animals are carriers of Ebola. So far the virus has spread to more than 10,000 people in Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Nigeria and Senegal. It has killed more than 11,000 people in West Africa

Currently there is no cure or medicine that kills the Ebola virus, but the symptoms of the disease like dehydration and low blood sugar, are sometimes able to be treated while the body’s immune system battles to expel the virus, Scientists are speeding up trials for a possible vaccine to kill Ebola. Countries are also worried about the outbreak, already 4 countries closed their borders to prevent from an outbreak. There have been many donations made but still not enough to speed up the process of finding a cure.
