Roman Literature
Rome had many great poets and authors that wrote about their past wars and religions. Some of their authors were people like Ovid and Circero and some poets were Horace and Virgil. Some of their pictures are below. These authors and poets below at the bottom set the bar for all modern poets and authors.
Roman Law
The Romans had a very simple law system. They had a Private Law and a Public law. Public Law handled disputations involving the state of Rome. Private handled problems between people. In Rome, criminals were sentenced to either work in mines for long hours or participate in a gladiator fight. In Rome back in the day it was easy to follow the laws but if you didn't you were in for a big consequence.
